I am Elena
About me
I am an italian freelance illustrator, storyteller and eternal dreamer.
My motto is “be crazy or be confident to live your weirdness”… and with a touch of fantasy and positivity even dreams that seemed unattainable can become true!
Illustrating and drawing has always been my passion. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. Since early childhood, not even the smallest surfaces could stop me from using pencils and markers. In particular, funny stories carried by intense images have fascinated me since childhood, which is why in 2020 I decided to pursue my passion professionally and illustrate children’s books.
Despite this unstoppable desire to draw, when it was time to decide which path to take, I did not choose the artistic one. Stage fright? High school and then university, an unthinking but almost inevitable choice. I didn’t have to do it, but I didn’t think much about it.
With hindsight, I think it all had its meaning and I think it was better for me to take the path I chose. My work experience in the free market has shaped me and given me the opportunity to learn a lot. I have met fantastic people, travelled a lot and had experiences that I wouldn’t change for the world.
I have taught myself my professional skills in illustration and drawing through years of self study with countless painting and drawing courses, books and practice, practice, practice. I still have a lot to learn, though.
Between 2020 and 2021, I published two self-published books, “The Jade Queen” and ” Even Elephants Like to Swing”.
The next steps will lead me to write and illustrate other books and to look for collaborations and projects with publishing houses, autors, other illustrators and present and sell my works on several portals for illustrators.
